Welcome to Splunk Observability Workshop series. These 3 hours, hands-on Observability workshops are brought to you by the Splunk team via Zoom. Learn, connect & interact with Splunk subject matter experts, colleagues and industry peers, and have some fun on the way! Virtual hands-on workshops are a convenient, interactive way to build your Splunk Observability skills and knowledge – from the your work or home office.

What you'll need?

Just you, your laptop, and a browser that can access external websites. You will also need a splunk.com account to access the workshop environment (create an account here). We run these workshops on Zoom, if you don’t have the Zoom client on your device you will be able to access via a web browser.

IT Service Intelligence

This workshop is led by Splunk Solutions Engineers, ITOA Specialists and IT Subject Matter Experts. The purpose of this workshop is to expose customers and prospects to IT Service Intelligence and its capabilities for Business Service Monitoring. The workshop agenda includes:

• Introduction to IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) Concepts and Terminology
• Introduction to Business Service Monitoring
• Navigating ITSI
• Investigation of a degraded Critical Business Service
• Configuring Alerting and Proactive Monitoring of Critical Business Services

The workshop is designed for IT Operations teams, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 Analysts. In addition, Line-of-Business Owners and Service Managers will also leave with a better understanding of how ITSI can help elevate monitoring to view business service health and detect business impacting outages.

• Review of Fundamental Proficiencies needed for Efficient IT Operations Management
• Test drive how Splunk can improve investigate of an incident
• Investigate why Splunk makes key decisions easier
• Understand the value of Splunk’s IT use case library (IT Essentials - Learn)
• Learn the value of the Splunk platform for Infrastructure Monitoring
• Investigation challenge to drive to true root cause of a real-world production incident

Infrastructure Monitoring and Troubleshooting Hands-On Workshop

This workshop is led by Splunk Solutions Engineers, ITOA Specialists and IT Subject Matter Experts. The purpose of this workshop is to expose customers and prospects to the integration of Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring and Splunk Core capabilities. The workshop agenda includes:

• Discussion on Fundamental Changes in IT Operations
• Introduction to Splunk for Infrastructure Monitoring and Troubleshooting
• Navigating Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring
• Using Intelligent Alerting
• Hands-on Tasks Using Sub-second Metrics and out-of-the-box Integrations

The workshop is designed for IT Operations and DevOps / Site Reliability teams, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 Analysts and Engineers. Additionally, ITOps and SRE Managers will also benefit by seeing how Splunk can help modernize their IT Operations monitoring capabilities.
